Riceville Public Library – Library Director
The Riceville Public Library is seeking an engaged,
energetic, and community‑focused leader to serve as our next Library
Director. This is an exciting opportunity to guide a vital community
resource and support its continued growth, innovation, and impact.
The Director works closely with the Library Board and City
leadership to ensure high‑quality service, relevant programming, diverse
literacy opportunities, and compliance with state requirements. This position
is a full‑time City of Riceville role, averaging 30–32 hours per week.
The Director oversees all daily library operations and is
responsible for administration, staff leadership, financial management,
programming, and community engagement. Excellent customer service skills are
essential.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
- 2–4
years of experience in a library setting or educational field preferred
This position includes IPERS and health insurance
benefits. Salary: $18–$22 per hour, depending on qualifications.
Position and salary are subject to a six‑month review.
